In Russia in the 1790’s is when Rhodonite was first discovered in the Ural Mountains. In Russia it became one of the most popular stones. The Russian Culture used as a talisman of protection. Then Russia declared it their national stone in 1913.
Rhodonite in Russia is called orletza, which means “the Eagle stone”, this is because eagles were attracted to the stone and actually carried pieces to their nests. And in Greek, Rhodonite means “rosy,” due to its pink color.
